Moving In

Date and Time

When making plans to move, kindly advise the Faculty Housing office of your planned day and time of arrival. We will then, in turn, put you in contact with our Property Management staff who will arrange a time during office hours to meet with you at the Property Management office to present you with your keys, escort you to your unit and direct you as to where to park and unload your moving van or other vehicle.

The Property Management Office is open between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. If you should arrive at the Management Office after office hours (5:00pm to 10:00pm), or on the weekend or a holiday (9:00am to 10:00pm), you will need to call ahead to advise us as to your estimated time of arrival.

If you arrive after 10:00pm, you will have to arrange your own overnight accommodation off campus.

When you arrive at your apartment, you will find a welcome package with information that will be useful throughout your stay.

Student Families at Huron-Sussex

To move into Huron-Sussex as a student family, you first need to sign your lease and pay your deposit with the Student Family Housing Admissions Office at Charles Street. Once you have done that, please book an appointment with the Huron-Sussex Property Manager to pick up the keys to your apartment.

Moving In and Storage

Please note that due to the ages of our houses, many of the internal staircases and doorways are narrow; thus moving large pieces of furniture such as sofas or box springs up the stairs and around corners can be difficult. Furniture that can be taken apart will be easier to move. Questions or advice concerning moving items into units can be directed to the Faculty Housing Office.

Storage space: Storage space for all of your household items is largely limited to your unit as we do not provide storage lockers. In some instances, and at the sole discretion of the Property Manager, limited seasonal items such as snow tires and bicycles can be stored in designated areas within the neighbourhood. For further information or advice, please contact the Faculty Housing Office.
