Enbridge Gas Shutdown at 30 Charles 

Please be advised that due to a necessary gas meter sub-station upgrade, the natural gas supply to 30 Charles will be shut-off by Enbridge on Thursday November 3rd, 2022, between the hours of 7:30am – 10:00pm (approximately).  

For the duration of this service interruption, the building heating system and domestic hot water supply will be off. Domestic cold-water supply will remain, and the laundry room will remain open for cold wash only. Although the heating system will be off, weather forecasts for November 3rd indicate mild temperatures so the building will be able to retain residual heat to a satisfactory level for residents. All electrical systems will remain operational during this shutdown. Unit stoves can be used to heat hot water, and the Laundry Room at 35 Charles will be available for tenants of 30 Charles to use for hot water wash.  

Furthermore, shower facilities in the Athletic Centre at 55 Harbord St. will also be made available for families and children, on November 3rd, 2022, from 7am to 11pm. You will be required to show proof of address such as a driver’s license or T card and will need to bring your own towels and a lock. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Unauthorized Bike Parking 

This is a reminder that if you are currently using the long-term (indoor) bike storage area at 35 Charles without authorization, you must remove your bicycle or E-Bike by Friday, November 4 at 4:30pm. Failure to do so will result in the lock being cut and the bike removed from the site.  

All exterior and underground bike parking at Charles Street is intended for day-to-day use and not long-term storage. Residents who store bikes in these areas long-term occupy spaces that day-to-day users require.  

Going forward, any bikes parked in these areas that have been determined to be locked up in the same space for more than 48 hours will be tagged and removed from the parking area.  

For long-term storage options, please contact the Residence Office to be put on the waitlist for indoor bicycle parking.
