Become a Charles Street Residence Advisor! A position on the 2024-2025 Residence Advisor team has opened and we’re looking for an eager Charles Street student resident to join the team! If you are a University Family Housing resident that is a full-time U of T student, you are eligible to be a Residence Advisor (RA). The RA work term is from February 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Mindful Pregnancy Series

Register to participate in a 5-week mindful pregnancy workshop where expecting mothers can come together to go over topics such as health care options, birth plans, pre-labour signs and much more. A short summary regarding the topics of each week will be listed below.  

When signing up, you are agreeing to attend all 5 sessions. There are limited open spots for this program and registration is first come, first served. Those who sign up after will be put on a wait list and will be contacted if a spot opens-up.  

If more than 1 class is missed, you will be asked to give up your spot, and it will be given to the next person on the wait list.  

Every class that is attended, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Healing Mama Hospital Kit, which will be given out at then end of the 5 sessions.  

Week 1: Get ready for an informative session that covers all aspects of health insurance, healthcare providers, and the choice between obstetricians and midwives in Toronto hospitals. 

Week 2: Explore pushing positions, pain medications, and medical interventions to equip yourself with the knowledge needed to make informed choices and ensure a safe birthing experience. 

Week 3: Craft a personalized birth plan, explore cord/tissue banking options in Toronto, and get essential insights into how to handle emergencies during pregnancy and childbirth. 

Week 4: Explore the telltale signs labor, discuss the distinct stages of labor, including what to expect during each phase, and delve into the critical topic of pre-term labor. 

Week 5: Delve into the nuances of pre-labor, also recognized as prodromal labor, get insights into its distinct characteristics, and learn effective strategies for managing extended labor.
