Drop-In Centre
The Drop-In Centre is staffed by dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE), a Drop-In Centre supervisor, Community and Recreation staff, and volunteers. It offers a welcoming space for University Family Housing parents and guardians with children from birth to five years old to connect, share experiences, and enjoy quality time together. Children can explore, play, and learn through sensory activities, arts and crafts, storytelling, creative play, circle time, and gross motor experiences that support their skill development. Children must be supervised and accompanied by parents, guardians, or caregivers. Adults are encouraged to interact, join in and actively participate in meaningful fun-filled play-based activities with their children. This program is free and available exclusively to families living at University Family Housing residence.

The Drop-In Centre is located at 30 Charles Street West on the 3rd floor

*Outdoor and water play will be provided during warmer months and weather dependent.
The Drop In Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Programs take place indoors on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and during warmer weather, on the Rooftop Garden on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rooftop setting offers families the chance to enjoy fresh air, nature, and open space with educational toys, sensory play, and creative activities prepared by our RECEs. In case of bad weather, the program will be moved indoors.
We continue to follow Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines and will adjust our programs as needed, in line with directions from EHS and Toronto Public Health.
This is a device free program. To help maintain a safe and welcoming environment, please avoid using laptops or tablets and limit phone use to quick photos or necessary calls. When sharing photos or videos on social media, please post only images of your own child that do not include other children or families.

Here, pre-school aged children have the opportunity to play together in a safe and creative environment. The Drop-In Centre is free and restricted to children of student families living at 30 and 35 Charles Street West.
