Become a Charles Street Residence Advisor! A position on the 2024-2025 Residence Advisor team has opened and we’re looking for an eager Charles Street student resident to join the team! If you are a University Family Housing resident that is a full-time U of T student, you are eligible to be a Residence Advisor (RA). The RA work term is from February 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Drop-In Centre

The Centre is staffed by a supervisor trained in Early Childhood Education (ECE), work/study students, volunteers, and parents. It provides parents and/or guardians of University Family Housing and their children, from birth to five years a place to meet and socialize. At the Drop-In Centre, children have an opportunity to engage in free play together in a safe environment. The program includes arts and crafts, books, cognitive toys, creative play area, and circle time as well as a second room for gross motor skills. Parents/caregivers are expected to stay for supervision and participate in the various activities during playtime. The program is FREE and restricted to children of student families living at Charles Street.

*Outdoor and water play will be provided during warmer months and weather dependent.

The hours for the Drop-In Centre are from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays will be offered in the Drop-in Centre and Tuesdays and Thursdays will be available to families and their children on the Rooftop Garden. This allows families to enjoy the open space of the rooftop with nature, educational toys, sand box and other creative activities all set up outdoors. On bad weather days the play time will be moved indoors.  

We will continue to closely follow the guidelines set by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and will update our programs and services accordingly as directed by EHS in accordance with Toronto Public Health.”

Here, pre-school aged children have the opportunity to play together in a safe and creative environment. The Drop-In Centre is free and restricted to children of student families living at 30 and 35 Charles Street West.
