Become a Charles Street Residence Advisor! A position on the 2024-2025 Residence Advisor team has opened and we’re looking for an eager Charles Street student resident to join the team! If you are a University Family Housing resident that is a full-time U of T student, you are eligible to be a Residence Advisor (RA). The RA work term is from February 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Faculty

University Family Housing offers a unique set of apartments on the St. George campus for new and visiting UofT faculty members. These apartments are all in subdivided, historic homes and therefore are all unique. If you’re interested in living with us and are eligible, apply early – we have a limited stock of houses and demand is always high! 

Eligibility Requirements for New Faculty

You are eligible for New Faculty Housing if you are applying from outside the Greater Toronto area, and you are a newly appointed faculty with a full-time tenure stream appointment at the University of Toronto or a newly appointed faculty with a full time continuing status stream appointment in the teaching stream at UofT.

We have a limited number of furnished apartment units in our Huron-Sussex community for visiting faculty at the University of Toronto. These units are reserved for full-time professors, who have been formally invited by a UofT Faculty or Department, to teach and/or conduct research for a specific period.

Huron-Sussex Apartments

The apartment units can be found in converted century houses located on Huron Street, Spadina Avenue, Sussex Avenue, and Washington Avenue in the Huron-Sussex neighbourhood, situated in the northwest quadrant of the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus.

Apartments at Huron-Sussex are all historic homes that have been divided into one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments. Every apartment is unique in size, layout and features and we cannot guarantee a specific house for anyone applying to live in the neighbourhood.

The Huron-Sussex neighbourhood gives you all of the perks of living in a busy downtown area combined with scenic tree lined streets. Located in the north-west corner of St. George Campus, you are steps from Spadina Subway Station, Robarts Library, and the Rotman school of business.

Amenities

The Huron –Sussex apartments include everything you need to be comfortable. Your housing charge includes all utilities, (e.g., heat, air conditioning, water and electricity) and the use of the faculty only, communal laundry rooms, or, en suite laundry (if applicable). Your housing charge does not include parking, telephone, cable, internet, housekeeping services, or, contents insurance.
