30 Charles Upcoming Roof Replacement Project
Earlier this week residents of 30 Charles were informed of the upcoming project to replace the roof at 30 Charles. This work is necessary as the roof has reached the end of its lifecycle, and the safety and longevity of these buildings are a priority.
Beginning next week, contractors will be moving equipment into the alleyway on Balmuto Street for this project. This equipment will be moved as the project progresses, with the next location along Balmuto Street, and then the podium deck in front of 30 Charles. Each location will be closed one at a time while the work is being conducted. The first area of roof to be replaced will be the roof above the commercial retail area behind the residential towers (north side of the building). Residents should not be impacted by this work.
Beginning on October 30th, work will begin on the roof of the residential towers of 30 Charles. Work will take place Monday to Friday from 8:00am-6:00pm, but we have stipulated with contractors that noisy work must only occur between 9:00am-5:00pm. Elevator traffic will not be affected by this project.
This project is estimated to be completed in March of 2024. Please note that project timelines are subject to change due to weather conditions or project-related matters. 35 Charles Laundry Room Repairs
Please be advised that dryers 1-10 in the 35 Charles laundry room are blocked off for repairs. Dryers 11-16 are still open and operational. We are working diligently with contractors to have the affected dryers repaired as soon as possible.
Heating Systems ‘On’ Next Week
Please be advised that the heat for both 30 and 35 Charles will be turned on for the season on October 10th, 2023. Please allow time for the central heating systems to adjust to continued, fluctuating outdoor temperatures.
Bike Rack and Cage Clean Up: Revised Dates
Please be advised that the bike rack and cage clean-up dates have changed to the following
All bicycles (and accessories) locked to the racks outside the entrance of 35 Charles Street West, and the two racks located on the A-Level of the parking garage (A-36 & A-129) must be removed by October 17th, 2023, at 9:00 am
All bicycles (and accessories) within the cage located on A-Level of the 35 Charles Parking Garage (North/West Corner) must be removed by October 24th, 2023, at 9:00 am
Any bicycles (and accessories) found locked to the racks or within the cage after 9:00 amafter the specified dates will have their locks cut off and will be removed and disposed of.
Residents may continue use of the noted cage and racks any time after 5:00 pm on the dates noted.
October Unit Renovations at Charles Street
For the month of October, the following floors will have units under renovation. Residents may hear noisy work from 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.
