Become a Charles Street Residence Advisor! A position on the 2024-2025 Residence Advisor team has opened and we’re looking for an eager Charles Street student resident to join the team! If you are a University Family Housing resident that is a full-time U of T student, you are eligible to be a Residence Advisor (RA). The RA work term is from February 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Solar Eclipse Events at UFH 

Join UFH for a variety of events all centered around the upcoming solar eclipse, including: 

We are also giving out a limited number of solar eclipse safety glasses that allow you to watch the eclipse! Residents will need to register to secure a pair of glasses. Registration opens TODAY, Thursday, March 28th at 4:30pm! Glasses pickup for those who register is from April 2 – April 4, 9:00am-5:00pm and 6:00pm-7:00pm at 35 Charles Street West. 

Programs for Children 5 and Under 

Parachute Play (Parent & Child, ages 0 – 2) 

April 2nd, 16th, and 30th, 2:45pm – 4:15pm, Drop-In Centre 

Join us to learn new rhymes as we develop and foster our early language and literacy through songs and games. Engage our large muscle and gross motor skills while using a parachute! There are 3 different dates to choose from when registering. 

A Walking Trip to the Library (Parent & Child, ages 0 – 5) 

April 5th, 11:00am – 12:30pm, Meet in front of 30 Charles 

Join us on a trip to Yorkville Public Library! Meet the librarian for a story time, then go hunting for a book to borrow and read at home. Let’s explore the community services in our neighbourhood together! Registration is not required for this walking trip. 

Sensory Play (Parent & Child, ages 0 – 3) 

April 11th, 2:45pm – 4:15pm, Drop-In Centre 

Let’s have some fun! Join us for some sensory exploration play! We will discover why messy play is vital for a child’s development. Please wear appropriate clothing for this activity. Extra clothing is recommended. Register for Sensory Play here. 

UFH x Toronto Public Library (TPL) Card Program  

Did you know that UFH has a collaboration with the TPL where residents can request a free TPL library card, and have it delivered to their door? You can pick-up and drop off your library card registration forms at the bulletin board next to the Residence Life Centre (35 Charles St W, 2nd floor). Registration forms are brought to the library at the end of each month, and you can expect your card to be delivered within the first 2 weeks of the following month.
