Maintenance and Operations Updates

Charles Street Elevator Modernization and Playground Revitalization Projects Update

We have received updated timelines for both the Charles Street elevator modernization and playground revitalization projects.

Thyssenkrupp Elevators, the company who was awarded the elevator modernization project, has informed us that due to supply chain issues, the project will not start until March of 2023 (approximately) for 35 Charles. Work in 30 Charles will only begin once the elevator modernization is complete at 35 Charles, which we expect to be in the winter of 2023.

We are now in the final stages of the procurement process for the Charles Street playground revitalization and are expecting this project to be awarded in February of 2023. Due to the inclement weather over the winter months, construction is estimated to start in the spring/summer of 2024. Although we currently do not have a contractor selected, we are estimating construction to take 6-8 weeks to complete. Please note that this timeline could shift as we have been advised by our landscape architect that there are supply chain delays specific to playground equipment.

For more details on both projects and how they will affect day-to-day operations, please read our previous update on the projects.

Thank you for your patience as we complete these necessary projects for our community. As this project progresses, we will provide regular updates on construction schedules and any other details that will have an impact on residents.
