Session 1: UofT Libraries – Measure & Maximize Your Research Impact

Join UofT Libraries for a workshop on measuring and maximizing your research impact. By the end of this workshop, you will have increased the visibility of your research via academic research identifiers, institutional repositories, and academic social networks. Whether you’re a Professor, a Post Doctoral Researcher, or a Student, this workshop is for you!

Session 2: Career Education & Exploration – Create & Curate Your Personal Website 
Wednesday, April 5th, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Recreation Room, 35 Charles St W, 2nd Floor & Virtual 

Building and curating your online presence is vital in the current higher education labour market and beyond. Join us for a workshop by Career Exploration and Education to learn to communicate your professional identity to prospective employers, recruiters, collaborators, and mentors. By the end of this session, you will be able to identify the key elements of your professional identity (e.g., your research, teaching, and industry expertise) and understand how to best represent them online using a variety of resources and online platforms. Regardless of your career level, this workshop will improve the way you represent yourself and your work online.

Earth Hour 2023

Celebrate Earth Hour with University Family Housing and do your part to help the environment! 

Activities include: 

  •  A low-power movie night in the Activity Room 
  • An evening for the little ones at the Drop-In Centre

Library Card Sign-Up

Did you miss our library event, but still want to sign-up for a free Toronto Public Library card? There’s still time! Forms are available on the bulletin board outside the Residence Life Centre. Please return your completed forms to the drop-off folder in the same spot. At the end of each month, our Residence Life team will deliver the forms to the branch, pick-up your new cards, and deliver them right to your mailbox!

Mental Health for New Parents 
Thursday, March 23, 2023 | 1:00pm – 2:30 pm | Virtual 

This workshop will explore issues that new parents face and how they can find resources and support during pre and post-pregnancy. Most new parents struggle with a lack of sleep, needing support, mental health, infant care, and more. Learn strategies to care for your baby’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs while taking care of your self too. Discover strategies, tools, and resources to help. Navigating Special Education in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) 
Monday, March 27, 2023 | 12:00pm – 1:30 pm | Virtual 

The workshop will focus on development of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and the Identification Placement Review Committee (IPRC) process. It will also look at how learning challenges identified in the IEP are addressed in the classroom, and provide a brief overview of the gifted program. Participants will come away with a better understanding of the language and process of Special Education in the TDSB. Register for Navigating Special Education in the TDSB
