Career Education & Exploration – Create & Curate Your Personal Website

Building and curating your online presence is vital in the current higher education labour market and beyond. Join us for a workshop by Career Exploration and Education to learn to communicate your professional identity to prospective employers, recruiters, collaborators, and mentors. By the end of this session, you will be able to identify the key elements of your professional identity (e.g., your research, teaching, and industry expertise) and understand how to best represent them online using a variety of resources and online platforms. Regardless of your career level, this workshop will improve the way you represent yourself and your work online.
We are now excited to offer free professional headshots to the first 15 participants in our Building an Online Presence Higher Education series! The headshots will take place on April 6th between 7 – 9 pm in the Residence Life Centre at 35 Charles St W (2nd Floor). Each participant will have two photos taken on a white backdrop and receive one re-touched final photo. Further details regarding the headshots will be given at the event. If you are one of the first 15 to register and you do not attend the workshop you’ve registered for (in person or virtually) your spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist for headshots, so please plan accordingly!
Study Hubs – Sessions Extended
Thursdays, March 30 – April 20 | 10:00am – 12:00pm | Activity Room, 30 Charles St W, 3rd floor
Study Hubs have been extended to the end of the exam period! Based on community feedback, over the next 4 weeks we will open the Activity Room to provide additional study space during these hours. If you’re new to Study Hubs, they are a supportive space to meet your study goals. Sessions are divided into two 50-minute work periods with a quick check-in at the start. Tea & snacks provided!
Student Life Workshop: Buying a Home

A step-by-step workshop on buying a home, delivered by the Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation. Learn more about the real costs of homeownership, pros and cons of renting vs buying, understanding financial preparedness and affordability, and how to find the right home for you! CMHC will also be accompanied by two Home Financing Advisors/Morgage Agents ready to answer all your first-time buyer questions!
Fraud Schemes that Target Students: A Learning Session with Toronto Police Services
Presented by the Office of Safety and High Risk; an information session on fraud prevention. A member of the Toronto Police Services will provide fraud prevention training, specifically looking at active scams that are targeting students in the GTA. In addition to a presentation, there will be a question-and-answer period.
