Laundry Equipment Upgrades and Installation 

We are pleased to announce that we are preparing to install new laundry equipment and a new payment system at both 30 and 35 Charles. These upgrades include:  

  • Mobile App and Laundry Card Payment – Pay using the free mobile app, available for Android or iPhone, or with a contactless laundry card. 
  • Laundry cards can be purchased and reloaded at a reload kiosk. The kiosk accepts debit or credit cards. Residents can also purchase a code online and redeem at the kiosk. 
  • Easily create and submit service requests right from the app. 
  • Obtain machine availability via the mobile app and track laundry load progress. 

We estimate the new equipment will be installed by mid-July. Installation will begin at 35 Charles on July 15th 2024, before work will begin at 30 Charles on July 22nd, 2024. During the installation process, one laundry room in either building will remain open. 

We are very excited about these new improvements, but unfortunately, due to the new payment system, existing balances on laundry cards will not be able to be carried over. From now until mid-July, we encourage residents to use up the existing balance on their laundry cards and only load additional funds as needed. New laundry cards will also be provided to current tenants as a one-time courtesy. The new laundry cards and laundry card setup instructions will be delivered to all units on Thursday, July 11th.  

For a limited time, we are offering tenants the opportunity to return their old laundry cards with a balance of $1.00 or more to the Residence Office during operating hours to be applied against your rental account. The details of this offer are as follows: 

  • Return Period: July 15 – September 13 
  • Eligibility: Laundry cards with a balance of $1.00 or more 
  • For Cards Returned July 15 through August 1: 
  • The balance will be applied directly towards the last month’s rent top-up on September 1. 
  • For Cards Returned August 2 through September 13: 
  • The balance will be held as a credit on your account for other uses if the last month’s rent top-up has already been settled in its entirety. 

Please return your laundry cards within the specified time frame to take advantage of this offer. If you are not able to return your card in person during operating hours, please contact the Residence Office for more details.  

There will also be a new modest rate increase to help with new operation and maintenance costs of the new equipment. The new rates for the laundry room are listed below:
