U of T includes mental health services in their supplemental health insurance through Greenshield Canada, for all students and additionally for those working as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Course Instructor (CI) under CUPE3902 Unit 1. Students can add dependents to their plan(s) during specific opt in periods discussed below.

Individuals employed at U of T as a TA or CI for 15 hours or more can expect to be enrolled approximately four weeks after their first pay cycle.

2 Member ID -00 denotes you as the plan holder; any dependents will be assigned -01, -02, -03, etc.
3 To access your complete CUPE3902 Unit 1 benefits, you must be enrolled in a base plan (e.g., UTSU, UTGSU, SCSU, UTMSU). Otherwise, you will only have access to the HCSA. UTGSU members may purchase a 12-month extension to their health insurance plan after graduation by applying within 30 days of coverage expiry.
4 Healthcare Spending Account (HCSA): a flexible fund that you can apply to any eligible healthcare expenses that your insurance policy does not cover.
