Taco Takedown: Get Your Ticket Before They’re Gone! 

Taco Takedown is next Tuesday! For just $10, you’ll get to try 4 unique taco creations from the talented St. George campus chefs. Don’t miss out on this delicious showdown—grab your tickets before they’re gone!

UFH Haunted Halloween: Tomorrow! 

October 26, 2024 | 6:30pm-8:30pm | 3rd floor, 30 Charles 

Join us for UFH’s annual Halloween celebrations! There will be a guided ‘spooky’ tour of a Haunted House (appropriate for all ages), trick or treat giveaways, snacks and more! These activities will take place in the Activity Room and the Rooftop Garden on the 3rd floor of 30 Charles Street. No registration required and all are welcome!  

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in their favourite costumes! 

Trick-or-Treat at Charles Street 

Thursday, October 31st from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm 

Stay safe and happy this Halloween by following these guidelines: 

Handing out treats?  

  1. Pick up a Trick-or-Treat door tag at the Halloween display table in the lobby of 35 Charles St. starting Monday, October 28th. 
  1.  Hang the door tag on your front door handle to indicate you are giving out treats. Secure pets before answering the door.  
  1. Edible treats must be commercially wrapped. Homemade treats are not permitted. Avoid allergens and choking hazards, including nuts, hard candy, and chewing gum. 
  1. Consider giving treats other than candy, like stickers, or school or art supplies. 

Parents of trick-or-treaters: 

  1. Only go to apartments that have Trick-or-Treat door tags on their front door handles. Please be mindful that not everyone celebrates Halloween for religious, cultural, or other reasons.  
  1. Do not enter apartments. Collect treats at the door.  
  1. Children should be accompanied by an adult. 

Green Living Indoors: Grow, Compost, Create  

This hands-on workshop series promotes sustainable living in urban settings. Participants will learn to grow nutritious microgreens year-round, set up vermicomposting systems to recycle kitchen waste, and create beautiful terrariums for indoor greenery. This program encourages eco-friendly practices that facilitate indoor growing, reduce waste, and bring nature into urban living spaces, making it ideal for individuals and families seeking sustainable living!

Family Care Office: Life Management Series for Students – Navigating Caregiving & Work

Join the Career Exploration & Education and Family Care Office teams for coffee and snacks to explore strategies for identifying caregiver-friendly employers, addressing systemic barriers, showcasing caregiving skills on your resume, and finding balance between job-seeking, work, and caregiving.

Family Care Office Open House for Students

Students and their families are invited to come to check out U of T’s Family Care Office in its interim location at 215 Huron Street. Explore and borrow from our library, craft, and colour with our team and learn about our offered resources. Guest resources from our campus and community geared especially towards those families new to Toronto will be available. Pizza and cupcakes will be served!
