Noise Complaints

A certain level of outside noise is reasonable and can be expected in a densely populated urban centre, such as Toronto. Please refer to the City’s Noise Bylaw for time restrictions and sound level limits for various types of noise.

Inside the building, excessive noise should not be ongoing between 11 pm – 7 am. Excessive noise (e.g., from neighbours or their pets) should  be reported to building Security, who will investigate the source of the noise, speak to any applicable units, and file a report with the Residence Office. If the noise continues,  Security will involve Campus Safety. Please refrain from contacting other residents directly regarding noise issues.

Please be considerate of other residents. The lease agreement states that residents must not cause or allow noise or disturbance that interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of other residents in their apartments. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.
