Upcoming Cold Weather Preparation
Please be advised that a significant cold front is expected over the coming days, with temperatures dropping well below seasonal averages.
To help prevent frozen or damaged radiators, water leaks, and potential flooding, all residents are reminded to ensure that windows and balcony doors are fully closed. Open windows during extreme cold can cause radiators and associated piping to freeze and fail, which may result in water damage to your unit and neighbouring units.
U of T Building Engineers and UFH Building Operations teams are actively monitoring outdoor temperatures. In response to the forecasted cold weather, the central heating temperature will be increased to maintain safe and comfortable indoor conditions throughout the building.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued cooperation.
Reminder: Proper Use of Garbage Chutes
This is a friendly reminder that large or bulky items should not be disposed of down the garbage chutes. Items such as oversized garbage bags, recycling, cardboard, and other bulk items can cause chute blockages and compactor issues. When this happens, it may lead to temporary garbage chute shutdowns for repairs, which can affect all residents. To help prevent these disruptions, all large items including garbage, recycling, and bulk waste should be taken directly to the garbage room or to the garbage bins located in the respective garbage rooms and service dock areas.
If you are unsure whether an item is suitable for the chute, we kindly ask that you err on the side of caution and bring it to the garbage room instead.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our waste systems running smoothly.
